Honda CR125 Shifter Kart Engines
Stock 125The engines destined for “stock” class racing are assembled from dyno developed stock parts combinations to achieve maximum performance within the rules for the class. The crankshaft is “slip fit” and trued. Power valve plugs are precision blended to the port and sealed. The cylinder diamond honed to insure roundness and proper piston clearance. A pulse fitting is installed in the crankcase and unused engine cover holes are plugged. Finally the engine is carefully assembled and measured to insure all the component parts are within strict tolerances.
Modified 125 Road Race PackagesThe CR125 Road race package is dyno developed to provide high peak power for long straightaway operation coupled with high torque below peak power rpms. This insures continued acceleration after an upshift at high speeds. The crankshaft is “slip fit” and trued. Power valve plugs are precision blended to the port and sealed. The cylinder diamond honed to insure roundness and proper piston clearance. The head is machined for o-rings and a new combustion chamber. A pulse fitting is installed in the crankcase, the kick starter boss is machined and welded for carb clearance, bearing pockets are sized for roundness and unused engine cover holes are plugged. Adjustments are made to port configuration, intake tract, head configuration, exhaust and ignition to control detonation, thus insuring that the engine will maintain high performance. Finally the engine is carefully assembled and measured to insure all the component parts are within strict tolerances.
